Campers
On Mission got its start in Virginia when the Home Mission Board decided that
it wanted to hold the 1976 National Rally at Jamestown. Home Mission Board
missionaries Marilyn and Ken Prickett came from Lake Placid, New York, to Virginia
to meet with campers and Virginia Baptist state personnel about organizing
the rally. It was determined that the event would be held at the Jamestown
Beach Campground. Plans were made and the rally was held. Following a successful
rally, Virginia campers decided they would continue to meet and hold rallies
and Virginia Campers On Mission had its beginning. This group passed on a Mantel
and Legacy to emulate. I am very pleased and honored to call them Fellow Camper
on Mission and Friends.
